Bus catches fire on Mashhad-Zahedan Road, passengers safe

TEHRAN –An official in Iran’s Traffic Department said on Thursday that a Volvo B12 bus which was travelling on Mashahd-Zahedan road caught on fire and brunt completely, the Mehr news agency reported.
Colonel Nader Rahmani said that the accident occurred sometimes around 21:36 p.m. on Wednesday.Rahmani said the driver stopped the bus after he noticed that the engine compartment of the bus caught alight and safely evacuated all 15 passengers before the fire got spread.
Rahmani added that police and fire crews were launched to the scene soon after they received a call from the driver; however, it was late because driver had tried to put out the fire by himself.
The car was completely burnt, but fortunately nobody was injured, Rahmani added.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, he concluded
